Most of us have a fixed mind-set about learning, we believe that everyone has different learning ability and no effort can improve the way students learn but the teachers of our partner schools have different story to tell. The school uses Open Door’s system of assessment, remediation and reassessment to ensure mastery of difficult concepts by every student.
Even after teaching chapter thoroughly students face difficulty in applying those concepts. A similar instance happened in Class 8th. When the teacher completed teaching this concept, and conducted an Open Door Learning assessment, she found that only 5% students had truly mastered the concepts. Through the analysis generated by Open Door, she noted that ‘solving a linear equation’ was a topic in which children commonly had a poor understanding. She made a plan to remediate. She spent two classes teaching this topic and discussed more questions with the students. After the re-learning test she noticed the improvements.
